What happens after I mail in my certification?

The Nebraska Cattlemen office will process your NC-BQA Test and Contract. If all information is complete, you will receive a BQA certification card with your specific BQA number found on the card. You will also receive a certificate outlining the NC-BQA guidelines.

Who are NC-BQA Certified Trainers?

NC-BQA certified trainers include: veterinarians, extension staff and Nebraska Cattlemen staff that have participated in a special training on Beef Quality Assurance and their role as BQA trainers.  Trainers are provided a separate training manual, are responsible for keeping their certification current and must follow the guidelines when training producers.   NC-BQA trainer certification must be repeated every two years in order to stay current with industry information. Trainers are also required to complete a test.   To locate a certified trainer in your area, contact the Nebraska Cattlemen BQA Department at 402-475-2333.

Can I complete the self-study program and test on the internet?

Yes. Download the BQA certification manual. Review the manual as a self-study guide. Once you feel you have studied the materials, print off the test and contract (page 29-30). Complete the test and contract. Return along with certification fee to Nebraska Cattlemen office. No online testing is available at this time.
Important Reminder:
Even if you self-study, you must have the signature of a certified trainer on your completed test/contract to be further processed by NC.
