Top Hands Recruit for Association
By Melody Benjamin
Nebraska Cattlemen’s membership continues to grow thanks to our members’ recruiting efforts. As part of the NC Top Hand Cash Reward program, NC members who recruit three new members with dues totaling $300 earn three percent in a cash-back rebate. Top Hand members for the past recruitment year were recognized at the Annual Convention Trade Show Reception. As has become the tradition, many of the rebate winners donated their checks to the Nebraska Cattlemen Research and Education Foundation.
There were also members who recruited fewer than three members or less than $300 in dues. Their efforts are greatly appreciated also.
The most effective recruitment of new members comes from members. Staff can assist and provide input, but telling your peers why you belong to NC remains the strongest recruiting tool.
Last year, the Membership Committee set a goal of 400 new members, which we surpassed with 415 new members. The committee has set the goal for the Nov. 1, 2007-Oct. 31, 2008 recruitment year at 400.
If you need help recruiting, would like copies of any NC communication pieces or want to check on someone’s membership status, please contact your NC Member Services team member. Y Melody Benjamin is NC’s vice president of Member Services.
