NC R&E Foundation Announces 2006 Scholarship Winners
The Nebraska Cattlemen Research and Education Foundation (NC R&EF) announced the winners of its scholarships during the Nebraska Cattlemen/Cattlewomen Midyear Conference in Holdrege in June.
- Chance Thayer, Imperial ‑ $1,000 Robert E. Lute II Scholarship
- Danelle Bauman, Falls City ‑ $1,000 Robert E. Lute II Scholarship
- Kyle Fornoff, Hayes Center ‑ $1,000 Frank & Shirley Sibert Scholarship
- Blair Uden, Elwood ‑ $1,000 Bill Heller Memorial Scholarship
- Paul J. Schmid, Bellwood ‑ $1,000 Donavan Yoachim Memorial Scholarship
- Tyler Gansebom, Osmond ‑ $1,000 Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska Scholarship
- Michael Rennau, Wood River ‑ $1,000 Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska Scholarship

These scholarships, provided through contributions received by the Foundation, are awarded for the 2006-2007 academic year. Since its inception, the NC R&EF has awarded $170,100 to 183 students pursuing college educations.
The Nebraska Cattlemen Research and Education Foundation was created in 1968 and has been nurturing important, long-term facets of the cattle industry, supporting education for our future leaders and promoting needed research. The Foundation’s mission is to raise and provide funds for educational and scientific activities that benefit beef cattle producers in Nebraska, as well as to advance the overall purpose of the Nebraska Cattlemen association. Applications for next year’s scholarships will be available Jan. 1, 2007.
