December 23 NC Post - Convention Highlights

The Show Went On. Despite a monstrous snow storm during the start of the NC Convention, cattle producers were able to tend to business both on their operations and for their industry. NC members cared for their animals during the storm and then hoofed it to Kearney for the annual Convention.
Members discussed and approved many policies including three resolutions from the Animal Health and Nutrition Committee

November 25 NC Post - Extended Edition

Last Call for the NC Annual Convention and Trade Show. Make plans to attend the annual event planned for Dec. 9 - 11 at the Kearney Holiday Inn Convention Center. October 1 NC Post - Checking The Map

Checking The Map. The NC Strategic Planning Task Force met Wednesday in Kearney to update NC’s 3-year strategic plan. The task force discussed threats and opportunities to the Nebraska beef industry and to Nebraska Cattlemen. The task force created a list of objectives as well as worked on updating the mission statement. The task force will meet again via conference call in late October to finalize the plan which will be presented to NC membership at the annual convention in December. September 17 NC Post - NC Travels to D.C. with Full Agenda

NC Travels to D.C. with Full Agenda. NC leadership completed a very successful trip this week to Washington, having successful meetings on the Hill as well as at various government agencies. Tuesday, NC leadership participated in meetings with USDA, FDA, EPA, Deprtment of Justice and the U.S. Trade Representative Office. Issues such as antibiotic use in feed, trade, mandatory price reporting, competition, TB oversight, animal ID, truck load weight, and many others were discussed. On Wednesday, NC met personally with all five of Nebraska’s congressional delegation. The day also included a meeting with USDA officials to discuss mandatory price reporting and market transparency. August 27 NC Post - Proposed NC Bylaws Change

Proposed NC Bylaws Change. The NC Board has considered a bylaws amendment that would improve membership services efficiency. The proposed change eliminates one position from the board and empowers the regional membership representatives to take a larger role in membership services. According to NC bylaws, any proposed bylaws change must come before NC membership a minimum of 30-days before the change is enacted. If you have questions or concerns about the proposed change, please contact any NC board member or an NC staff member. The proposed changes are as follows:
