Nebraska Cattlemen Selects Nov. 28 – 29 For Annual Convention & Trade Show

The Nebraska Cattlemen invite all producers to mark their calendar and make plans to attend their annual Convention and Trade Show which is scheduled for Nov. 28 – 29 at the Holiday Inn in Kearney.

The event will include a mixture of business and pleasure, including updates and votes on priority industry issues as well as a Trade Show featuring a reception and entertainment.

Industry experts and producer leaders will present updates on a wide range of issues in the subject areas of brand, animal health, natural resources, marketing and taxes. The 2007 Farm Bill, Country of origin labeling, the beef checkoff, and ranch and feedlot environmental regulations are examples of the issues cattle producers will gather to address.

“If you raise cattle, our Convention in Kearney is the place to find out what’s going on and to participate in shaping policy that will help influence public decisions at the local, state and national level,” said Jay Wolf, Nebraska Cattlemen president.

The schedule for Wednesday, Nov. 28 includes Cattlemen’s College, which involves brief seminars on timely topics, a full Trade Show, an Opening General Session, as well as meetings specifically for seedstock, cow-calf, farmer-stockman and feedlot producers.

Activities on day two include a Past President’s Breakfast, policy committee meetings, Nebraska CattleWomen meetings, the Nebraska Cattlemen Research & Education Foundation Luncheon, an Annual Business meeting and the Annual Banquet.

Special hotel room prices are available through Oct. 30 at the Holiday Inn $67, (308) 237-5971; Hampton Inn $69,  (308) 234-3400; and Wingate Inn $69, (308) 237-4400. When making reservations, request the Nebraska Cattlemen discounted rate.

Registration will be available online soon at www.nebraskacattlemen.org or by calling the NC Lincoln office at 402-475-2333.
