Last fall, UNL recorded 231 undergraduates in animal science, the first time enrollment topped 200 since 1998. Lots of people across Nebraska have worked hard to raise the number and NC is partnering with the University to grow that number. The simple question for anyone associated with the cattle industry is: Do you know of any prospective high school or transfer students interested in UNL and/or the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources? If so, gather the following information on each student (name, address and year in school must be included): Name, Address, Year in school, Phone (optional), Interest major(s) (optional), Email address (optional). We also need to have the name of the submitter and their county of residence.
Forward the information to: Laura Frey, University of Nebraska — Lincoln, College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, 103 Agricultural Hall Lincoln, NE 68583-0702, Email: lfrey2@unl.edu, Phone: (402) 472-4445 or (800) 742-8800 (ext. 2541), Fax: (402) 472-7911. Names submitted do not need to come from the submitters county, zone or region. They can come from anywhere, even out of state.
The NC affiliate that forwards the most NEW names of potential students and contact information (names submitted previously do not apply to this contest) will earn a $1,000 scholarship to give to a student of their choice. The scholarship will be announced at the Nebraska Cattlemen's Midyear Conference and must be given to a student attending UNL CASNR - preferrable - animal science. The winning affiliate will need to set up a scholarship selection committee to make the decision. Forward information to Laura Frey by March 31. Remember you can submit any student (even young children) as long as their anticipated graduation year is included, along with their address. |
